Today I’m diving in head first to Bell’s Hopsoulution Double IPA – this is a yearly April only release from Bell’s that a few of you have been asking about. Bell’s describes it as a remarkably drinkable Double IPA that pays tribute to one of Mother Nature’s finest creations, as several hop varietals combine for massive aromas of tropical fruit, citrus and pine. A mild caramel malt character and dry finish provide balance. Stay tuned to see!
The Mitten Brewing Company in Grand Rapids is probably one of my favorite breweries to hang out in, every time I’m on the west side of the state, I make it a point to stop in and check out what’s on tap. I was really surprised and happy when I was able to get my hands on Country Strong, their first commercially distributed release. Country Strong is a 7.2% American IPA that captures a lot of what I like in an IPA. What are those? Watch and find out!

Train Hopper is the first distributed bottled beer from Witch’s Hat in South Lyon. I recently reviewed Witch’s Hat’s This Guy double New England style IPA, and thought that it was one of the top 3 double NE IPAs in Michigan. I haven’t tried Train Hopper in quite some time, and since this was it’s first release outside of the taproom, I figured there was no time better than the present to try it out. What did I think? Today’s breview for you is a sweet orangy imperial IPA from Griffin Claw Brewing in Birmingham, MI. Project Clementine doesn’t pull any punches while living up to it’s namesake, and follows those punches up with a boozy left hook. Watch for more details!
