Roak Brewing Company’s Hopgazer – New England Style IPA

After seeing my review for their New England style double IPA Flavorful Five, Roak reached out to me to see if I’d be interested in coming to the taproom to review their newest New England Style IPA Hopgazer.

I sat down with Roak’s general manager Allen Hilliker to talk about where we thought the NE IPA style was headed, the differences in NE IPAs out there, some of Roak’s future plans – and most importantly, Hopgazer!

If you’d like to find out more about Roak, Hopgazer, or to check out their taproom in Royal Oak, Michigan visit there website: https://roakbrewing.com/

Roak’s Hopgazer was provided free of charge by Roak in exchange for a fair and unbiased review.

Grand Armory Brewing – Cloudy with a Chance of Hops New England Style Double IPA

Grand Armory Brewing out of Grand Haven, MI is one of those breweries that you always hear so many great things about, but being on the east side of the state, you don’t get much of a chance to try very often. While on my travels around the state, I saw Cloudy with a Chance of Hops on a shelf and picked it up immediately. Being a big fan of NE IPAs, and seeing all the diversity there is out there in the style – this was a must have. Grand Armory does not disappoint – now if only I could get their stuff on the east side more easily!

Boatyard Brewing’s Hazy Sunset IPA Review

A friend of mine (whatup Dave!) called me from his local bottle shop to let me know that they had this new Boatyard NE Style IPA, and I was anxious to try it. I have never had a beer from Boatyard before, but I know they really started distributing a lot in my area and after this taste of theirs, you better be sure that I’m going to be on the lookout for it in the future.

HOMES Brewery – Same Same Different IPA

HOMES Brewery has only been around for a short time, but it’s caused a wave in the Ann Arbor brewing scene. From their minimal yet colorful aesthetic to the risks they take on their taproom menu, it feels like every move by HOMES is a calculated one. Same Same Different is an extension of that, and it’s what I’m sharing with you today.

Odd Side Ales Dank Frank Juice – a 9.9% Imperial IPA with a Dank Juice Twist

Today I’m getting weird with it, and I’m reviewing Odd Side Ale’s Dank Frank Juice – a 9.9% (just had to get it under 10%, huh?) imperial IPA that has all the charm of Odd Side’s dank juices, with just enough of that bite at the end. Check out more from Odd Side at http://oddsideales.com
