I’m back again with yet another Old Nation Brewing New England IPA. I can honestly not get enough of these. I think this is probably the most excited and interested in a beer style since I stopped drinking IPAs the first time around. I feel like I’m going out of my way to get my hands on as many NE IPAs as possible – is Boxer going to make me want to change my ways? Watch the video below to see!
Hey guys, a little change of pace today from the regular brewery and beer reviews. I saw this independent craft beer seal was released today by the Brewers Association and was wondering how you felt about it.
Is it going to affect the beer you drink and buy? What do you think about the seal itself – I’m no graphic designer but I’m not too keen on it. Do you think standard beer drinker guy is going to care at all, or that it will influence their decision in any way? I’ve posted what I think below – am I off base?
Hey Everybody! On today’s video, I was over my friend Dave’s house and we decided to put Dark Horse Brewery’s Scotty Karate Scotch Ale vs the Bourbon Barrel Aged version to see what the difference was all about. They both weigh in at 9.75% so what makes them so different? Click the link below to watch the video!
I’m continuing my Fruit Beer week, and this time I’m checking out MI-Berry Vice by Arcadia Ales in Battle Creek. I found this to be really refreshing with subtle raspberry flavor that wasn’t too sweet and well balanced. I didn’t mention it in the video, but I noticed a bit of a sour and tart taste – I may just be warming up to this sour beer thing after all!
Take a look and let me know what you think!
With summer coming quick, I’m kicking off a fruit beer week here, and my first review of two this week is of Griffin Claw Brewing’s Overnight Sensation – a newly released 6.5% Raspberry Ale. You’ll have to watch the video, but I can say that I was really not expecting what was in store.
You can watch the whole review below!
Continuing with my “From the Shores of Lake Michigan” series on, today’s breview 4 U, I check out Brother Benjamin, a 10.1% Imperial IPA from Greenbush Brewing Company in Sawyer, MI.
Sorry for the sound in this one, I realized I had some interference in the audio once I was editing. Hopefully I was able to eliminate most of it.
For today’s breview 4 U, I’m a street walking cheetah with a heart full of napalm, and I’m trying Tapistry Brewing’s Heart Full of Napalm. This is a 10.5% Double IPA that really reminded me a lot of Bell’s Two Hearted, but heavier. Which do I like better? Watch and find out!
For today’s breview 4 U, I fall deeper into the IPA hole while I’m taking a look at Griffin Claw Brewing Company’s newest East Coast IPA, Nawt A Cawp. Nawt a Cawp is a 7%’er featuring some cool 70’s style artwork. This can looks like something Charles Bronson would have beat up for giving him the side-eye.
Around these parts, Jackson MI is known more for it’s prison than it’s beer. If you haven’t checked out Jackson lately, you should because Grand River Brewery is making one hell of a smooth IPA these days. Today I review Monkey Mouth IPA from Grand River Brewery, and I have to rank it up there as a favorite.

Seven or so years ago, when a friend of mine lived in Howell, MI it seemed the best we could do for craft beer was heading to the local Meijer across the street and seeing if they got the newest shipment of Magic Hat #9, or the latest variation of Blue Moon. These days, there are a lot more options, including Eternity Brewing on Grand River.
