In it’s first appearance since 2014, Double Trouble is a limited release Imperial IPA from Founders Brewing Company in Grand Rapids, Michigan and I’ve got it here for you today!
Founders describes it as “An imperial IPA that was brewed to turn your world upside down. Hops will get you coming and going. Pungent aromatics up front pair with a malt-balanced backbone and a smooth, bitter finish.”
Well I’ll just have to see about that for myself, won’t I?

Bell’s Two Hearted is one the highest reviewed beers in the country, and admittedly one of my favorites – so when I heard that Bell’s was releasing their Double Two Hearted, an 11% double IPA version of their already hugely successful IPA, it was a no brainer that I had to bring it to the channel for you. While I’m busy digging out of this hardcore winter weather we’re seeing, I took the time to check out Boatyard Brewing Company’s Lake Effect Double IPA. Lake Effect Double IPA is one of the maltiest double IPAs I’ve ever tasted. Where most beers in this style usually try and smash your teeth out with piney hoppiness, Boatyard goes in a different direction and I find that to be extremely intriguing and refreshing.
