Odd Side Ales – Rye Hipster Brunch Stout 2017

Since I just posted my review of Odd Side’s Hipster Brunch Stout, I figured this would be a good time to show and compare the rye version. Both beers are pretty big at 11% ABV, but where they differ is in their barrel aging process. Grand Armory Brewing – Cloudy with a Chance of Hops New England Style Double IPA

Grand Armory Brewing out of Grand Haven, MI is one of those breweries that you always hear so many great things about, but being on the east side of the state, you don’t get much of a chance to try very often. While on my travels around the state, I saw Cloudy with a Chance of Hops on a shelf and picked it up immediately. Being a big fan of NE IPAs, and seeing all the diversity there is out there in the style – this was a must have. Grand Armory does not disappoint – now if only I could get their stuff on the east side more easily!

I enjoyed the break from the bourbon barrel to the rye whiskey barrel, but watch to see which I enjoyed more, and to find out more about Odd Side, check out their site at: oddsideales.com (more…)
