Ellison – Big Black Stout Review

Ellison Brewery and Spirits Big Black Stout is an 11% ABV Imperial Stout. I’ve had several of Ellison’s IPAs (Crescent Fresh, Relativity, Evolution Series) but other than Der Roest, I haven’t had one of their stouts. Today that changes with Big Black Stout. So does Ellison know how to do stouts too, or are they primarily gonna be one of those IPA houses? You’ll just have to stay tuned to find out!

Ellison Brewing and Spirits – Citra Evolution DDH IPA

As part of Ellison’s DDH IPA line, this time around as the name would imply, they’re featuring citra hops in full effect. At 6.75%, it’s not the strongest IPA I’ve ever had, but it’s nothing to slouch at either. Does Ellison bring their A-game and is this another banger? Watch to find out!

Ellison Brewing and Spirits – Der Roest Bourbon Barrel Imperial Stout

Der Roest by Ellison Brewing and Spirits is one of the most intriguing stouts I’ve had since Brewery Vivant’s Tart Side of the Moon. It’s a bourbon barrel aged imperial stout, but unlike most BBA stouts, it doesn’t taste heavily of bourbon. Is Der Roest from Ellison Brewing and Spirits for you? Stay tuned!

Ellison Crescent Fresh IPA Review

Ellison Brewery in East Lansing has been generating a buzz, but until now I’ve been unable to find them in cans in my area. I’m glad that I found Crescent Fresh IPA, because it’s one of the most intriguing IPAs that I’ve had in quite some time and is a totally new take on the concept.
