Grand River Brewery’s Monkey Mouth IPA Review

Around these parts, Jackson MI is known more for it’s prison than it’s beer.  If you haven’t checked out Jackson lately, you should because Grand River Brewery is making one hell of a smooth IPA these days.  Today I review Monkey Mouth IPA from Grand River Brewery, and I have to rank it up there as a favorite.

Seven or so years ago, when a friend of mine lived in Howell, MI it seemed the best we could do for craft beer was heading to the local Meijer across the street and seeing if they got the newest shipment of Magic Hat #9, or the latest variation of Blue Moon.  These days, there are a lot more options, including Eternity Brewing on Grand River. Old Nation Brewing – M-43 NEIPA Review

This breview 4 U is one I was really looking forward to trying – Old Nation Brewing’s M-43 New England IPA.  This is only the second NEIPA that I’ve tried, but if this is any indication of what’s to come… Where do I get more?  Old Nation is in Williamston, MI – which is about half way between Howell and Lansing.  I’m really looking forward to heading out there soon to try what they have on tap.  Check out the video beyond the break below!

Founders Brewing Company – Doom Imperial IPA Review

For today’s craft beer review, I got my hands on a couple bottles of Founders Doom, an Imperial IPA aged in bourbon barrels, and a part of their Barrel Aged series, which also include KBS (Kentucky Breakfast Stout), Fruitwood and Backwoods Bastard.  At 12.4% abv, does this overpower?  Have you met your doom yet?
