CityBuilt Brewing – Melisandre and Happyfriendsgiving Review

Today I got a Two-fer. I’m reviewing Melisandre and #Happyfriendsgiving, both from CityBuilt Brewing Company in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Melisandre is a 7.1% ABV Red IPA with a lot of piney and sweet malty aroma. Happyfriendsgiving is a light 3.8% Berliner Weisse and while it might be too late to enjoy for your friendsgiving, it might work out well as a nice Hanukkah or Christmas get together beverage!

Old Nation – Electron Brown Double Brown Ale

Today I’m looking at Electron Brown from Old Nation Brewing in Williamston, Michigan.  You probably know Old Nation for their New England Style IPAs like Boss Tweed, M-43 or even Cart Horse and Greenstone.  But, Old Nation didn’t start off just doing NE IPAs.  I’m going to look today at a tried and true style, the Brown Ale, and in the case of Electron Brown, it’s a espresso brewed double brown ale.  Does this brown ale stay mild and smooth, or does it have another trick up it’s sleeve?  Watch and learn!

Bells – Barrel Aged Expedition Stout 2018

Bells Bourbon Barrel Aged Expedition stout, or BAE as it’s also known as, is the bourbon barrel aged version of their normal Expedition stout. I take the challenge on today’s episode of Draft Therapy!

Grand Armory Brewing – Sippin’ on Gin Barrel Juice Double IPA

Barrel Aged IPAs don’t seem to always be a big hit, but I don’t know if until today, I’ve tried a Double IPA aged in Gin Barrels. Today, I’m taking a look at the appropriately named “Sippin’ on Gin Barrel Juice” double IPA from Grand Armory Brewing in Grand Haven, Michigan. So does gin barrel aging work with a double IPA? Watch to find out!

Upper Hand Brewery – An IPA from the UP Division of Bell’s

Upper Hand Brewery might not be a brewery that you’ve heard of, but they have a heck of a pedigree. Upper Hand is a division of Bell’s and was founded by Larry Bell himself, with the mission of trying to brew beers with a lot of personality of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. So since this is an IPA, is it going to be like Bell’s Two Hearted? Watch to find out more!
