Today, I’m checking out Founders 4th in their 2017 barrel aged series lineup – DKML. I compare it to the Old Nation and Dark Horse Collaboration “The German Hobo”, which is another Michigan Malt Liquor in the same vein as DKML – the difference is that DKML is Bourbon Barrel Aged, giving it a heavier alcohol taste.
While DKML is the fourth in their bourbon barrel aged series, Backwoods Bastard is slated to release in November and another to be announced beer will be released in December.

I have to admit, at first I gave the original Slurm a good review. But now that I’ve had several different NE IPA’s, I feel like Shorts really missed the mark with that beer. Well only two months later their back to try to redeem themselves (I’m sure they’re doing this just to win me back) with the Double New England IPA – Slurm Lord. How does it stack up? Malt Liquor – it’s not just for 40oz anymore. Old Nation Brewing and Dark Horse Brewing Company have collaborated on “The German Hobo” – an 11.9% ABV Malt Liquor that is deceptively smooth. This one had me laying on my couch for a while after I was done. (more…)
I thought when I recently tried Atwater’s Java Vanilla Porter, that there probably wasn’t a vanilla porter out there that could beat it.
Well, my friends… A new contender has stepped up to the plate.

When I initially saw that Perrin Brewing was collaborating with Cigar City in Tampa, and Oskar Blues out of Colorado, I thought for sure that they’d be releasing an IPA. You can imagine how excited I was when I heard it was actually an imperial oatmeal stout. Take a look and see what I thought when I was able to finally try it!
