HOMES Brewery has only been around for a short time, but it’s caused a wave in the Ann Arbor brewing scene. From their minimal yet colorful aesthetic to the risks they take on their taproom menu, it feels like every move by HOMES is a calculated one. Same Same Different is an extension of that, and it’s what I’m sharing with you today.

It’s not fall until you see Hazel’s Nuts on the shelves. Don’t worry, you don’t have to notify the authorities, Hazel’s Nuts is a 10% Imperial Stout aged in bourbon barrels with coffee and hazelnut from those fine folks at Odd Side Ales.

Today I’m getting weird with it, and I’m reviewing Odd Side Ale’s Dank Frank Juice – a 9.9% (just had to get it under 10%, huh?) imperial IPA that has all the charm of Odd Side’s dank juices, with just enough of that bite at the end. Check out more from Odd Side at http://oddsideales.com

I was really impressed with the first Blackrocks beer I tried, Presque Ale, so when I saw The Murray Project on shelves, I was excited to give them another go. This time around The Murray Project is an Imperial IPA weighing in at 9.2%, will it tickle my fancy once again, or will my experience be soured? (more…)
