First time brewery on the channel today! River’s Edge Brewing Company in Milford, Michigan has been around since 2018, and within the last year just started releasing 22oz bombers, and now cans too. Today I have their session IPA, GROK. At 4.4%, how tasty can it be? Stay tuned to find out!
Dark Horse hasn’t made enough of an appearance on this channel, so I thought today I’d start to remedy that by drinking not one, but two of their beers. Today I’m taking a look at Crooked Tree and Double Crooked Tree – an IPA and Double IPA respectively. Obviously these are two pretty different beers, but that doesn’t mean I can’t have a favorite. Which one is it, and which is your favorite?
Well friends, Founders 5th release in their 2018 Barrel Aged Series is upon us, and this time it’s an old friend – Curmudgeons Better Half – the maple barrel aged version of their traditional Old Ale, Curmudgeon. where does it fall in the order of best to worst? Is it better than KBS or Backwoods Bastard?! Watch and find out!
Today I have a “Juicy” IPA from Big Lake Brewing in Holland, Michigan – Breakwall IPA. This is the first time I’ve ever seeen this beer, and as there was no date on the can, I’m not sure if it’s new, old or maybe limited, but – this is labelled as a Juicy IPA, so is this another New England Style IPA, or does it lean more on the IPA side?
Based on the input I got from Facebook, I’m going to be trying out Short’s Synalpheus Pinkfloydi and Latitude 42’s Lucifer’s Cuvee – with any luck this will go off without a hitch, but I’m using this an an experiment to get a feel for a possible mobile setup – here goes nothing! Don’t forget, watch until the end, had a great time answering questions from everyone, and we’re all gonna do this again sometime soon!
Since the heat of summer has been upon us for a while now, you’re probably looking for a good summer Michigan Lager to quench that thirst – and today I’m looking at two lagers that were both released this year and putting them “Head 2 Head” against each other. It’s time to look at Founder’s Solid Gold, and Odd Side Ale’s Beer Me!
Coming to you from the Southwest side of the state, it’s my first taste of Coconut Porter from Paw Paw brewing (aka 2 Paws) in Paw Paw Michigan. I’m a fan of porters, and I enjoy coconut porters – which are difficult to do the right way. Is this going to tickle my fancy or get my ire instead? Stay tuned to find out for sure!
Bokonon is the first beer I’ve had from Creston Brewery in Grand Rapids. I have had a can of their Czech style Pilsner in my fridge for a month or so now, but I felt like an NE IPA might be the more interesting choice. A 7% NE IPA brewed with Mosaic and Citra hops sounds like it could hit the spot. So do I flip, or does it flop? Watch to see!
As part of Ellison’s DDH IPA line, this time around as the name would imply, they’re featuring citra hops in full effect. At 6.75%, it’s not the strongest IPA I’ve ever had, but it’s nothing to slouch at either. Does Ellison bring their A-game and is this another banger? Watch to find out!
There’s not a whole lot to talk about with the Detroit Garage Project – I don’t know much about the brewery, or where it comes from, but Hornindal uses Norweigen Farmstead Kveik Yeast in this 10.2% IPA out of Detroit. So is it worth seeking out, or is it another run of the mill IPA? Watch to find out!
