Bell’s Whiskey Barrel Aged Cherry Stout – Do You Like it Sweet or Tart?

Depending how you answer the question in the title, I think that will help determine how you’d like this beer. Today’s Breview4u is Bell’s Whiskey Barrel Aged Cherry Stout which is the whiskey barrel aged variety of their Cherry Stout (which I haven’t had previously). There’s also a bourbon barrel aged version of this same stout, so be on the lookout for that one too.

Ascension Brewing Company – Lost in the Sauce New England Style Double IPA

Ascension Brewing Company has a small taproom in Novi, Michigan, and while they’ve only been around for a couple short years, they’re veterans of Taproom exclusive releases. This time around I’m checking out their “Lost in the Sauce” New England Style Double. While I was wrapping up shooting, and I didn’t get a chance to mention it on the video, Lost in the Sauce had a nice pleasing Orange aftertaste which is a nice change of pace for most NE DIPAs, which are usually more grapefruit or tropical in flavor.

New Holland Brewing Company – Dragon’s Milk Reserve – Salted Caramel

Fresh on the heels of their last Dragon’s Milk Reserve release, New Holland is now unleashing a blast of salted caramel on the masses. Salted caramel (the candy) is one of those things that I didn’t realize I loved until after I had it, and after having a salted caramel porter from Pigeon Hill in Muskegon, I knew that it was also a flavor in beer that I loved. Who does it better? Pigeon Hill with their porter, or New Holland with this bourbon barrel aged stout? Keep watching to find out!

Bell’s Hopslam 2018 Review

On Today’s Breview 4 U, I’m checking out Bell’s first big release of the year – their double IPA Hopslam. Hopslam is a 10% double IPA that really fuses together the midwest style IPA with the West Coast IPA, combining it’s sweet opening notes with this piney and bitter finish. It’s probably one of Bell’s most anticipated seasonal releases year after year and I’m going to dive into it today. I hope you brought your taste buds with you!

Tapistry Brewing – Northern Trippin

The New England Train is still running here in Michigan, and we’re not even near capacity yet. This time it’s Tapistry Brewing’s Northern Trippin on the tracks. The artwork on this can is really beautiful and I think it really shows off the spirit of the state – including some beautiful fall foliage and kayaks near pictured rocks – but does the brew inside match the beauty on the outside? Stay tuned to find out!
