I’ve brought a few HOMES beers to the channel, and HOMES Guava Sherbet is the newest of their Sherbet Lactose Sour series. This review came out of a poll I put up on twitter asking what beer I should review next – it was neck and neck until the end and Guava Sherbet was one of the winners. For today’s Breview4U, I’m looking at Your Grandmother on French Toast from Pigeon Hill Brewing Company, which is a whiskey barrel aged version of their Your Mom on French Toast. I really enjoyed “Your Mom”, and thought it had some great maple, vanilla and cinnamon flavors. Does whiskey make it better? Watch and find out!
Train Hopper is the first distributed bottled beer from Witch’s Hat in South Lyon. I recently reviewed Witch’s Hat’s This Guy double New England style IPA, and thought that it was one of the top 3 double NE IPAs in Michigan. I haven’t tried Train Hopper in quite some time, and since this was it’s first release outside of the taproom, I figured there was no time better than the present to try it out. What did I think? Der Roest by Ellison Brewing and Spirits is one of the most intriguing stouts I’ve had since Brewery Vivant’s Tart Side of the Moon.
