Moving pictures, mostly talkies, but maybe a silent film here or there.
Odd Side Ales Bourbon Maple Wishes and Pecan Dreams is a Barrel Aged Porter that weighs in at 11% ABV. This was part of their yearly black Friday release along with Rye Hipster Stout, Raisins Almonds and Figs Oh My!, and Big Kahuna, but enough was left over for a small amount to hit distribution. I haven’t had a barrel aged porter before, so I’m ready to jump in and get a taste of that maple, bourbon and pecan flavor!

Roak Brewing is back with it’s 3rd released iteration of their Devil Dog Oatmeal Stout. Following up on the French Toast Devil Dog, this time around it’s the Bourbon Barrel Aged French Toast Devil Dog (which is a mouthful). Watch!

Today I got a Two-fer. I’m reviewing Melisandre and #Happyfriendsgiving, both from CityBuilt Brewing Company in Grand Rapids, Michigan. You probably know Old Nation for their New England Style IPAs like Boss Tweed, M-43 or even Cart Horse and Greenstone. But, Old Nation didn’t start off just doing NE IPAs. I’m going to look today at a tried and true style, the Brown Ale, and in the case of Electron Brown, it’s a espresso brewed double brown ale. Does this brown ale stay mild and smooth, or does it have another trick up it’s sleeve? Watch and learn!

Bells Bourbon Barrel Aged Expedition stout, or BAE as it’s also known as, is the bourbon barrel aged version of their normal Expedition stout. The normal variety weighs in at just over 10%, and the bourbon barrel aged version bumps that heavyweight ABV to almost 13.5% – but, can a beer that’s already pretty good be enhanced by the BBA process? I take the challenge on today’s episode of Draft Therapy!
