It was only about a week and a half ago that Founders released KBS nationwide, and we’ve already got the second release of their Barrel Aged Series – Backwoods Bastard. While this time around, Backwoods Bastard is a year round release rather than a limited edition, how does it stack up against it’s 2017 counterpart that was released only about 6 months prior? I’m finally checking out one of Transient Artisan Ales beers – Cromulent. Cromulent is an American Pale Ale, that has some very striking similarities to what we think of as hazy new england style IPAs. Was Cromulent worth the wait, or should I have gone with Obligatory first? Watch and find out!
Today, I think is a first for me – I’m reviewing Griffin Claw’s Faux Pas, a hazy hoppy hef. Beeradvocate lists this as a “Belgian IPA”, which is what I call it in the video, but I think that’s a gross mischaracterization. If anything, the label is true and this is a hazy Hefeweizen. Now you may be saying, all hef’s are hazy, because that’s exactly what I said, but this has a fruity taste that I’ve never experienced before in a hef.
I’ve brought a few HOMES beers to the channel, and HOMES Guava Sherbet is the newest of their Sherbet Lactose Sour series. This review came out of a poll I put up on twitter asking what beer I should review next – it was neck and neck until the end and Guava Sherbet was one of the winners. For today’s Breview4U, I’m looking at Your Grandmother on French Toast from Pigeon Hill Brewing Company, which is a whiskey barrel aged version of their Your Mom on French Toast.
