Barney Blood is a 7.2% Milkshake IPA brewed with strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, lactose and vanilla beans from our friends at Short’s Brewery in Bellaire, Michigan. Initially released last summer, it was a very limited release only sold out of Short’s Mart, but now it’s hit store shelves state wide. Lactose is really what should set this beer apart as a Milkshake IPA rather than a New England style IPA. I love you, you love me, but is barney blood worth your money? Watch this to get the straight fossilized poop.Continue reading “Short’s Brewing – Barney Blood Milkshake IPA”
Short’s Brewing’s Juicy Brut is a 4.2% IPA and it’s Short’s latest in the Brut IPA style. With Short’s pub in Bellaire, Michigan and the production facility in Elk Rapids, I’m always confused, but there’s one thing that I do know, and that’s that Short’s has no problem making some quality beers and they’re very agile with the beer they produce. So is the Brut style here to stay, and does Short’s Juicy Brut contribute to the overall lineup? Watch the video below!Continue reading “Short’s Brewing – Juicy Brut IPA”
This Head 2 Head is something I’ve wanted to do for a while now. When I tried the BBA Huma Lupa Licious against the regular version, it got me thinking. Could Huma Lupa Licious be my favorite malty Michigan IPA? Is it really better than Bell’s Two Hearted? What if we threw Blackrocks 51K IPA in there too? Well, on today’s video I do just that – I put them all to the test in my new “Head 2 Head” series.
Which other beers would you like to see go Head 2 Head?
Huma Lupa Licious is a mainstay in the Short’s Brewing lineup, and this year they’ve released a Bourbon Barrel Aged Huma Lupa Licious! I was on the west side of the state and saw these on shelves and knew I just had to bring it home to share with you all. Stay tuned to get my impressions and watch out for a special guest star!
Batch 8000 from Short’s Brewing is a Quadruple IPA weighing in at a whopping 15.8% – Let that soak in for a minute. This is one of the strongest beers I’ve had in recent memory and probably also one of the smoothest that I’ve had that is this strong. The raspberry flavor covers the alcohol bite and contributes to that smoothness. Is this something you should buy? Watch and find out!
