Dragon’s Milk Reserve Maple Oak is an 11% Bourbon Barrel Aged Stout from New Holland Brewing Company in Holland, Michigan. This is the latest in New Holland’s Dragon’s Milk Reserve line, and frankly I’m kind of dumbstruck that this is the first time that they’ve just had a maple variety of this specific beer. Maple barrels seem to be the adjunct of the time, so it feels a little late for New Holland to just be putting one of these out now. So how does it fare against the last few Dragon’s Milk Reserves out there? Watch to get the story!

Final Absolution is a 10% Belgian Trippel from Dragonmead Microbrewery in Warren, Michigan. I don’t know how I went so long without posting a review of a Dragonmead beer, so to atone for my beer sins, here’s final absolution – the Warren taproom is a shrine to The Belgian style, with over 30 beers on tap at any given moment. Do I need to speak to the priest, or is this my almost final absolution? Watch for the lowdown!
Pen Hopper (aka Peninsula Hopper) is a 6.5% ABV IPA from Monkey Fist Brewing Company in Traverse City, Michigan. Monkey Fist Brewing just hit wide distribution here in my area, and I’m always looking for new breweries to bring to the channel, so when I saw it hit shelves at my local shop I quickly picked it up so I could bring it here to you. Now Monkey Fist called this “Peninsula Hopper” on their website when I first started working on this – but where does it fall in the great tradition of Midwest IPAs? Watch to find out!

Noble Ghost is a 5.2% ABV Blonde Ale from Axle Brewing Company in Ferndale, Michigan and I’m going to be taking a look at it here today. This light blonde ale features grundgeist hops (or you may also know them as callista hops), which are known for having a peach, tropical and lemony aromas. But does this blonde ale suit the summer, or do we need to call and exorcist? Watch for the full scoop!
Today I’m checking out Two From Ellison Brewery and Spirits in East Lansing, Michigan – You Can Get With That… JUICE and Haz’N’Stein India Pale Ale. Juice is listed as a Double IPA, and Haz’N’Stein as an IPA, but we know these are juice bombs and are IPAs in name only. So how does the double hold up against the single, and which one would I choose given the option? Well that’s why it’s a head 2 head, so you should watch and find out!
